'Surface Tension'
(Digital Image & text, 32 x 32cm)
“Today I Shed My Skin” consisted of sculptured moulds of body parts, made with tissue paper and gauze, reflecting the fragility and transience of existence. These were then sewn with surgical sutures. They were part of a touring exhibition “Dialogues of the Present”.
In 2022, I wrote a poem “Surface Tension”, in response to that work.
In 2023, I used old photographic slides of the works, transferring them into digital images.
The work, now and then, is an homage to all, who lose identity, land, home, limbs and loved ones.
